There are many things that can cause a charge point to not respond. Most commonly it is an issue with signal. Charge points use sim cards and 4G signal just like your phone - if the charge point loses signal it can need a prompt to connect again before becoming responsive again.

Sometimes if a charger is being unresponsive after a first attempt to start a charging session, it is worth waiting two minutes and trying again. Often if a charger hasn't been used for a prolonged period of time, it will drop offline, but sending it the first start request forces the charger to re-establish a connection, so when you try again two minutes later, it will now be connected and accept your start request.

In more serious cases, there can be hardware issue (a fault with the charge point) and we will need to send some one to fix it.

If you have any issues, please log a ticket or call us. We can diagnose what is wrong and will try to get you charging.

If we need to we will also arrange for a maintenance visit.

If you are in a rush, we suggest trying the next closest charge point, but if you can let us know of any issues we can begin to rectify it before the next driver arrives.
