The Nichicon V2G chargepoint has a series of buttons on the top panel.
Once you have connected the grey gun to the car then "Lock" button (yellow) must be pressed. A click at the gun will be heard and once locked the "Lock" button will illuminate.
To release the gun from the car press the "Lock" button when it is illuminated. It will flash, a click at the gun will be heard and the gun will be releasable from the car.
The grey gun is the ChaDeMo standard for charge point to vehicle connection. The vehicle you want to charge will need to have the corresponding socket.
Typical vehicles with this connector are the Nissan Leaf, the Nissan eNV200 van and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Not all models of these cars support V2G (the discharge of car battery back to the grid), typically vehicles from 2016 onwards support V2G mode but you may need to check with a member of the project team.
The Nichicon unit will either operate automatically after the gun is locked in place (charging and discharging on a schedule planned by the project) or you can manual over ride and set the car to charge immediately by pressing the "Charge" button (orange button).
At any time you can stop a charge/discharge cycle by pressing the "Stop" button (green button) but you will need to remember to press the "Lock" button to release the gun from the car.
