Starting a charge session on a Kempower charger
1. Select the charger in the app and press "start charge" on the desired connector or swipe your RFID card below the screen.
2. Wait for the charger to verify your start request (you will see an authorised message on the screen and it will prompt you to plug in).
3. Plug the cable into your electric vehicle (and into the charger if you are using your own cable).
4. Listen for a 'clunk' noise - this is the sound of the locking pins securing the cable so it cannot be unplugged. Power will start flowing to the vehicle after this point.
5. To end the charge session, either swipe your RFID card in the same place as you did in step 1 or follow the steps below to end from the app.
Ending a charge from the app
1. Go to the 'Charge' page
2. Click on the lightning bolt
3. Click "end charge"
Alternative method to end a charge
1. Follow the vehicle manufacturers' process to unlock the charging cable from the vehicle (typically "unlocking" button via key fob) - please note this will not be an option if using the ChaDeMo connector.
2. Remove the charging cable from the vehicle.
3. This should end the charge and release the cable from the charge point.
Notes on Kempower Chargers
- The Kempower chargers can be configured with different connector combinations so chargers at your site may not match the image below.
- Power switch - The Kempower T-series has an On/Off switch on the front right hand side above the indicator lights. If the charger is offline, it is possible someone has switched the charger off. Users should not touch this switch unless instructed by a site manager or Park & Recharge. Using the power switch to end a charging session can result in damaging the equipment and may incur a fine at some sites.
- Moving the Kempower T-Series - despite being a mobile charger we do not recommend you attempt to move the charger without permission from the site owner/manager. In instances where the charger is moved, two people are needed to manually handle the unit and we advise high caution and strict health and safety practices are followed.
